Last night was a beautiful, cool night…but the most definite signs that winter is approaching are the changing patterns in nature.
…what I saw as I came upstairs this morning
…the weather outside is frightful
…but fresh snow looks so delightful
We are flying back to Aus tomorrow. As a result, I’ll probably miss a day or two of posting whilst I’m in transit. To make up for it, I decided to put up a few from today’s snow showers.
Be careful if you’re out traveling in this tonight, I’ve heard it’s pretty slick. Hopefully for us it will be clear by the time we need to leave for the airport. 🙂
I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year’s Eve celebration last night. I for one know I felt a bit ‘unwell’ this morning when I first woke up. I didn’t actually take this picture today, but a few days ago (my blog, my rules 😉 )…just didn’t feel up to any photographic adventures today.
I’m always intrigued by old cars sitting in the woods. I often wonder what the story is behind them and the people that left them there. I don’t have any interesting tales for this particular old truck, perhaps my fuzzy brain is just too tired from last night’s festivities. I do like the mood conveyed by this picture, even though it feels a bit cold and lonely…it also reminds me of winter.
It’s New Years Eve and we’ll be celebrating much the same way as we did on Christmas Eve…except without the presents. I’m sure there will be plenty of ‘great’ photo ops later, but I may not be able to aim and focus as accurately as I usually can…simply because I’m tired from staying up so late of course. 😉
So with that in mind, I offer this mini horse portrait…and now I’m off to start my evening.
Happy New Years ya’ll…
Today we celebrated Christmas Eve in accordance with our normal family tradition. We ate, we drank, we were merry. We ate some more, we visited with one another (my brothers napped) and we opened presents. We ate, we played with our new presents, we fell asleep.
This picture is from Mom’s garden. A bit post card’ish’. I’m sure there are all kinds of clever things I could do with it in CS4, however I don’t know how to do anything more than type a message.
Merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night.
At first I was unhappy with this picture, not liking the Christmas lights running across the background. I’ve since eaten a candy cane from the lit tree and drank a merry cup of egg nog and decided the Christmas lights are what make this picture special. I can take a picture of this (beautiful) female cardinal anytime of the year for birding purposes. It’s only THIS time of year that this pic may include Christmas lights…so this pic will always be special for that reason. It doesn’t represent a bird pic to me, but our Christmas holiday in Kentucky.
The artist at work. Ok, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, it’s me taking a walk in Mom’s garden. I actually thought after uploading this, it would be ‘neater’ if I wasn’t in the picture, however, the masses (my family) have agreed that it’s more special for the photographer to be in the shot. So here it is…my self portrait reflection.
